How to submit an editorial complaint
We take accuracy and fairness seriously at PopCultureDaily.co.uk. If you believe we have published an error, breached editorial standards or treated a subject unfairly, we invite you to submit a formal complaint. All complaints should be sent to complaints@popculturedaily.co.uk. This is the fastest and most secure way to raise a concern.
What to include in your complaint
To help us investigate quickly and thoroughly, please provide the following:
- The full URL (web address) of the article or content in question
- The date the article was published or last updated
- A clear explanation of your complaint and the reason you believe an issue exists
- The specific statement, headline, image or section you are challenging
- Supporting evidence — for example, a source that contradicts the claim, screenshots or relevant documentation
- Your full name and a contact email address or phone number so we can follow up with you
We cannot act on anonymous complaints where we cannot verify the basis of the concern, but we will respect requests for confidentiality where you indicate one.
How we handle complaints
Once we receive your complaint, we will send an acknowledgement within five working days. We review every submission against our Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking Policy. For straightforward matters — such as a factual error, typographical mistake or misattribution — we aim to resolve the issue within ten working days. More complex complaints, which may involve legal considerations, multiple sources or significant editorial judgement, may require additional review and we will keep you informed of progress.
After our investigation, we will provide a written outcome. Possible outcomes include:
- Correction — a factual error is corrected, and a note is added to the article
- Clarification — additional context is added to avoid misunderstanding
- Update — the article is updated with new or corrected information
- Removal — in rare cases, content may be taken down if it cannot be remedied
- No action — if the complaint is not upheld, we explain our reasoning
Where a correction is made, you can also view our Corrections Policy for details on how we log and communicate changes.
Serious matters and escalation
If you are not satisfied with the initial response, or if your complaint concerns a serious editorial breach, significant inaccuracy or potential legal issue, you may escalate it to our Editor-in-Chief, Harriet Winslow, at harriet.winslow@popculturedaily.co.uk or by phone on +44 20 4587 9021. Harriet will personally review the case, the original findings and any further evidence. She will issue a final decision within 15 working days of escalation.
Please note that complaints about privacy or data protection are handled separately under our Privacy Policy. If your concern relates to the use of your personal information, please contact our compliance team via the privacy email listed on that page.
